UP

Saw it today. It was not what i expected. I mean, i expected it to be a child’s movie, ya know? What with the trailer and everything. Man, the first 15 or so minutes i was trying very hard not to bawl my eyes out (i barely succeeded). The story isn’t really for kids, imo. Although the ending was good, the main plot was heartbreaking. And i don’t think it’s something kids will appreciate.

Hey guys, i’m linking to my very talented friend’s site here. I personally know the artist, i went to school with her a few years back (read: elementary haha). One thing i remember about her was that she was always doodling stuff (remember that scandalous sketch of a book’s cover, t? )

I hardly ever link to anyone/anything, so when i do, it’s sure to be worth your while. So check out her stuff. It’s pretty amazing. =)

Another migraine attack.

Ever since 4th grade, i’ve been suffering from migraine attacks. The worst would be when i would need about 2-3 days of doing nothing but sleeping in a cold, dark room — cave, really — because i would miss my classes.

When i first had my check-up (cos my parents and i got a bit alarmed, migraine wasn’t part of our world), my doctor told me that migraines are usually triggered by several things. Might be the food you eat (cheese, nuts, chocolate, anything with caffeine, processed meat, etc), abrupt weather and/or climate changes (hello global warming!), and not getting enough sleep (that’s me right there),  among others. The triggers differ from one person to another and the degree of the pain covers a broad spectrum. Again, the worst was when i would experience flashing lights and loose peripheral vision on my right eye — i got really scared, and i wanted to gouge out my eyes from the pain. I had to vomit several times just to ease the feeling of nausea. After a while, i end up with tears in my eyes, dry-heaving. I usually had a bucket placed right beside my bed, near my head, so that i did not have to get up and puke my heart out.

Anyway, through the years i learned that what triggers my attacks is usually when i would read too much, stay up until the wee hours of the morning, and not get enough sleep. Sometimes it’s just the not getting enough sleep part that gets me. I need at least 6 hours of sleep to function well. Ironic really when: a) i love to read, b) i usually stay up late — going on early morning, and c) my course requires me to read PLENTY.

And then a few years back i started getting vertigo. The fun never ends.

I remember way back into elementary and high school, my father would come to school to fetch me in the middle of the day because of these attacks. I would spend the time waiting for him, asleep on one of the numerous beds in the school clinic. In high school, it was common knowledge that i get bad migraines, and when i absent myself from class, the consensus was that i had another bad migraine attack. What’s good about it is that i get excused.

When i got into college the frequency of the attacks started to lessen from 2-3 attacks per month to maybe about once every couple of months. Probably because my schedule was not that set and full, in terms of hours in school. And quite frankly, i didn’t do much studying then lol.

And then i enter law school. Boy, those migraines came back with a vengeance. Not as bad as in high school, but a bit more bad and frequent that in college. I hate getting these attacks. And we are usually only allowed a number of absences in law school. Beyond that, whether excused or not, your professor has all the power to give you an FA, failure due to absences. I’ve never been FA-ed, thank god for that. But getting a perfect attendance is a struggle. I don’t like the feeling of helplessness, of the choice of whether to go to class or not, taken from me.

I made this blog because i had another attack today. And tomorrow i have a final exam. I slept the whole day instead of studying for it. The best i can right now is to take pain killers and sleep it off. And pray that i get enough time tomorrow to get a last chance in reviewing for my exam.

Sobrang behind na kami sa CrimPro class namin. Natatakot ako kasi malamang magpa-special class si Judge. Ipit na ko sa oras. May final exam na ako sa Monday. Once a week lang kami nagkikita. Paano kaya yun?

Sana mag-lecture na lang siya.

Best daym liempo. Ever.

Well, in my humble opinion anyway. And it’s in comparison to the other liempos i’ve tasted so far hehe. I’m thinking rin baka nakadagdag dun sa sarap yung sauce nya.

Right after my Corpo class i dropped by ward 7 to see if there were still people lurking. As usual, meron pa ring mga tambay. At kumakain na sila ng dinner! Yes, i admit, i was so hungry i could feel my stomach eating itself lol. In the midst of complaining about being hungry (and thinking if i’ll have something delivered) i checked my mobile phone. Sonny sent me a text message, “Yaki mix!” which was the japanese resto we ate in last friday. Damn good food btw! Anyway, i immediately called him to say yes to the invitation to go pig out again. And then i find out he’s already out eating with friends. Buuuuuuut… the good thing is i got to ask them to bring me food. And they got me the best damn liempo i ever tasted.

Maybe it’s because i was so hungry, anything would taste good. Idk. I do know that it was crunchy and tasty and the sauce was a little bit salty and sweet. Busog na naman ako!

I’ve been hanging out at ward 7 for several days now. And it’s been fun. Chaotic at times, but fun. And there’s always, always food there. Or, at least the very least, someone is eating. Kaya masarap tumambay rin hehe.

Ayoko yung feeling na on deck ka, tapos hindi ka pa pala tatawagin. Ilang meeting na akong ganyan, paranoid. LOL.

I had a busy week, what with the barops recruitment going on. Which was pretty successful, i might add. There were a lot of people who attended yesterday’s General Assembly. Anyway, i’m happy that they were happy about the video i made for the recruitment week. Heehee.

Now i know why i’ve been hankering to go to Fully Booked at Boni High. Anner Rice’s Road To Cana is on paperback!!!

Just got home from Tagaytay. Had lunch at Leslie’s, daym if the weather wasn’t nice! I mentioned to my mom wouldn’t it be nice to have a resthouse there. She said yes, if i’ll pay for it. Cracked me up, i’m still on school. LOL.

I heard the best news last week. Will share it when things are already final (and executory haha). Now i really am looking forward to April. :) :) :)

BUT before i can enjoy my summer vacation, i still need to go through hell… week that is. *sigh* final exams are just around the corner. It feels like we just had our midterms and now we’re having another bout of exams.

No class today so i decided to go to bonihigh and check out Fully Booked. There are several books i’m dying to read. Buuuut i don’t have the extra moolah yet to buy them. I’m saving up for a coming trip woth my brother. Plus i can’t ask anymore from the parents, they’ve already given me so much last Christmas. Even though i’m sorely tempted to ask. I can’t even borrow money cos i know i won’t pay them back lol. Anyway, i’m just gonna go window shop (Charles and Keith!!) and salivate.

Booored shit.

Midterms started last Saturday. Gyah. I wonder how many posts i’ve made that involves taking exams? Quite a few, most definitely. And so i’ll add one more. Yeah, i’m getting tired of taking them. Why? Ever get the good feeling of having done well in the exam and then you get your grades and then finding out you didn’t do as well as you thought you did? That’s why.

Anyway, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is on cinemas now. So i didn’t tell my folks that i’m taking my midterms and watched in last Saturday with my brother. Sneaky sneaky! And no guilty feelings afterwards. Yeah, it was pretty good. I like that this time it’s about the weres. And damn, that Lucian dude is really good. “I’ll kill you! All of youuuuuuu!” Or something like that. Alpha to the core. Looking forward to watching Bride Wars next. Now if only i could find someone to go with. Everybody’s busy, dammit.

New car

Got mine today. :-) it’s got a footbrake instead of a handbreak. First time i heard of that lol. So thanks to ma and pa!
